The Ridge Church of Carbondale, IL is an SBC congregation prayerfully seeking the lead pastor God has prepared to shepherd our congregation. Our pastor has recently retired after 25 years of faithful ministry.
LOCATION: The Ridge Church facilities, which are less than 10 years old, are located on 20+ acres midway between Carbondale and Murphysboro near many venues for outdoor activities. Nearby Southern Illinois University offers opportunities for student and international ministry.
REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will have a heart for people and a love for God. He will exhibit skills in preaching, teaching, prayer, Bible study, and pastoral care; and is a team player who works with staff and volunteer leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The pastor will work with the established leadership structure to lead the church in carrying out its mission to “lead non-believers into becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.”
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will be a committed Christian who brings enthusiasm, integrity, and discernment to his ministry; upholds the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God; and affirms the doctrinal statements of the Baptist Faith & Message.
